French Hiphop, Melodic Metal, and a Rock and Roll Nerd

I Plan on making an entry every day, however, if I do, I cannot include such a large selection as I did with my first post. so, from here on in, I will more than likely include 3-4 songs per entry, depending on how much time I have to contribute to it. So, without further ado, I give you what you came for, your music.

~Yelle is something of an enigma. She is a happy ending story of a Myspace artist who rose to fame due to a single song, one that she made as a mockery of another french artist, Cuizinier. The original title of this song was Short Dick Cuizi, but the finished product was later entitled Je Veux Te Voir. Off of her first album, Pop-up, Je Veux Te Voir has helped Yelle make a name for herself. Elements of Hip-hop, Electronica, and Pop make this song addictive, and make you sing along, even though you don't know what the french means!

~Self Titled as an "American Indi/Roots Folk Jam Band," Dispatch certainly fit's the boot. Hailing from Middlebury, Vermont, this group uses elements from Ska, Reggae, Rock, Funk, Folk, and Flamenco. The song I chose to share today is a mellow one, with thoughtful lyrics, called The General. An anti-war song told in the perspective of a battle torn general realizing through dream the futility of the war he's fighting. Thought provoking, and a great tune, I highly recommend anything by Dispatch.

~Described as a Symphonic Power Metal band, and hailing from Finland, the land of metal, Nightwish is truly unique in their sound. Popular in Finland, Germany, Norway, Greece, Slovenia, and Hungary, They have remained a bit obscure for British and American listeners. Never becoming popular until their second album, and reaching the top ten charts in 6 countries on their fifth, Nightwish has had an exponetially growing fan base. Nemo, from the album Once is a great taste of their song style, lyrical analysis, and beautiful vocals in a melodic metal sense.

~Tim Minchin is an Australian stand-up Comedian, Musician and Actor. He is most widely known for his musical comedy, that includes several of his songs that'll make you roar with laughter. The selection I have for you tonight is a song titled If You Really Loved Me, and it explains what is needed for a woman to be able to do for him to woo him and steal his heart. From his album titled So Rock, this song will wow you with his piano playing skills and well written verse, and roll of the floor laughing at the lyrics.

Thanks for taking the time to read, and I look forward to getting even more readers and listeners. As always, if you have a request, or if you know a great obscure song or artist, Please email me at Alexander.the.okay@gmail.com, and I am more than willing to help accommodate!
